The Wilderness Journey of Lent
Jesus invites you to join him in the desert
Saturday, February 20th from 9 am until 2:30 pm at Cornerstone Church
Cost for the day is $35.00 and we'll be on our own for lunch.

Lent invites us to make a pilgrimage. In preparation for his ministry, Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness being tempted by the devil. During Lent we are invited to join Jesus on this pilgrimage, spending the weeks before Easter purposefully walking through our own wilderness, facing our own personal challenges. Lent is a serious season, but it is also a joyous season. We die with Jesus, so that we may be resurrected with him. We enter the wilderness of Lent with the resurrection of Easter on our mind.
Join your fellow pilgrims for a one day retreat that celebrates the joy of the resurrection and the pilgrimage of Lent. The day will include teaching, times of silence for individual prayer and meditation, group discussion and worship.
There are many reasons why you may think this event is not for you. You'll have to give up a Saturday, you're uncomfortable with silence, Lent is not that important an event in your walk with Christ. But perhaps Jesus is inviting you to go with him on this adventure. That is a good reason to participate. If you join him, it will be worth it. You will accompany Jesus in his wilderness and he will equip you to face yours.
